What's New in Technology at Salem High...

This section is to serve as a technology resource to Salem High School teachers, students and parents. Teachers can find important links, documents and information on the Teachers Resource Page. Likewise, students can find important information on the Student Resource Page. Changes, updates and advisories will be regularly posted on this page. Be sure to check back often.

Salem High School has two Computer Resource Specialists, Mr. James R. Maxey (Lab 112 - BS U.S. Naval Academy, MA Univ. of Northern Colorado, MS ODU) and Mrs. Lee Taylor (Lab 127 - BA/MT UVA ). In support of the Educational Technology Program goals, the computer resource specialist (CRS) has four major areas of responsibility: instructor, instructional partner, program manager, and technical support.

Taz's Technology Tips is a website which provides a compilation of technology references and handouts. Many of these are the handouts were used for technology instruction when the teachers brought their classes to the computer labs or during teacher inservices.

SharePoint -- Many of the technology resources can also viewed on the Salem HS SharePoint site. For tips on accessing this site or your SharePoint site based upon your teacher or student account, visit the SharePoint website.

Instructional Computer Allocation - The school's instructional desktop computer allocation is based upon the current enrollment with a student to computer ratio of 4:1.

Computer Lab location . The study block computer lab is located in Room 128. Please refer to Computer Labs on the Salem 's Website for hours of operation and procedures. Labs 112 and 127 will be available for class use. Sign up by submitting a Technology Lesson Plan.

Scheduling of Technology Resources (labs, projection carts, laptop carts, digital cameras, etc.) will be done through Outlook. Please refer to Teacher's Resources on Salem's Website. Please remember anytime you use a resource a Technology Lesson Plan MUST be completed (the template can be found in the teachers folder and on the Teacher's Resource page) and e-mailed to Jim Maxey or Lee Taylor. High School Technology Proficiencies can be found on the Teacher Resource page of Salem 's website.
