Meet the Theatre
Instructors The Theatre strand of the Visual and Performing Arts Academy offers a wide range of classes not typically offered at the high school level. Through a series of foundation classes and electives which provide practical and creative information, Academy students will be able to embrace an in-depth, well-rounded theatre education. Students will be able to explore the various fields available to the theatre artist. For the performance minded students there are classes to acquaint them with stage movement and with voice and diction. For those students interested in technical theatre there are classes that focus on design and construction. There are also classes that allow for the development of future writers and directors. Students may concentrate in one area or select from a combination of theatre and other Academy courses to discover their own place in the world of the theatre. Through Academy courses and seminars students will learn how to better prepare for and achieve a career in the Theatre Arts. Beyond the traditional classroom, students will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of after-school performances from musicals to one-acts. Whether they are performing in the black box theatre, the auditorium, or the Schola they will have the chance to discover and excel. View and Download pictures of the |
