The Visual and Performing Arts Academy of Salem High School Information Night will be January 9, 2008 7:00- 8:30pm.
Written applications are
due to guidance counselors
by
Friday, February
1, 2008.
Auditions are scheduled for
February 26-March 1, 2008.
Information regarding requirements
for the appropriate
audition/portfolio
are available
from Salem High School.

intent from those admitted into the program must be mailed

A selection committee will review the applications of all qualified applicants; applicants will then be scheduled for auditions/portfolio review.
Auditions will include:
Dance
A dance class, solo performance,
and an interview
Theatre
Two prepared contrasting one-minute monologues, a cold reading or
improvisation, and an interview
Visual Art
A portfolio of 5 to 20 pieces, including a still-life,
on-site creativity assignment, and an interview.
Vocal Music
One prepared selection, sight-reading, scales,
and an interview
Instrumental Music
Melodic and rhythmic prepared selections, scales,
sight reading, and an interview
Piano
Chord Progression
