Colorado Technical University – Colorado Springs, CO

Colorado Technical University (CTU) has helped students achieve their professional dreams by preparing them for successful careers in business and high technology industries. Since its inception in 1965, CTU has evolved from a technical training school to a highly accredited institution of higher learning—offering Associate, Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral programs combined with Professional Certificates.

The University provides day, evening and weekend classes for students.  A student has a choice of taking classes online, on-ground or in a hybrid format to better serve his/her learning style.  The main campus for Colorado Technical University is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Admissions

The Department of Admissions encourages all students to schedule a campus visit to tour the facilities, interact with campus deans and interview with an Admissions Advisor to determine which program would best suit their interests. At the time of application, the student must submit attestation of high school graduation or equivalency for acceptance. See our web site at www.coloradotech.edu for specific admission requirements. Military Programs

  • CTU offers military scholarships to all active Colorado military students and their immediate families as outlined by the base commander of Fort Carson to include:
  • Reduced tuition with fee price lock (three year lock for Associate degrees/six year lock for Bachelor's degrees)
  • Available to surviving spouse of active duty military personnel who have died in the line of duty
  • Available to all branches of the military in Colorado
  • CTU provides military commitment options to relieve all financial (tuition and fees) and academic obligations associated with courses to any soldier called to duty:
  • Options available for completing courses online or through independent study
  • Over 6,000 active military personnel are currently taking CTU courses online
  • Nearly 900 active military personnel and veterans are taking courses on CTU campuses
  • CTU offers security courses validated by the Committee on National Security Systems and the National Security Agency, which include assistance with DOD 8570 requirements.
  • CTU implemented a $1 million scholarship fund for children of military heroes who have died in the line of duty, were permanently disabled in the line of duty, or are certified as POW or MIA through its partnership with Freedom Alliance.  CTU challenged other institutions to follow.
  • CTU hosts on-site facilities including Department of Veterans Affairs vocational rehabilitation counselors and ROTC staff offices, and a CTU Veterans Affairs Coordinator to assist current and potential veterans and active duty personnel.
  • CTU student population encompasses the largest Veterans Affairs vocational rehabilitation population in the state of Colorado.
  • CTU provides regular visits to base education offices in five military installations with CTU military veterans assisting active duty personnel with educational options.

Tuition and Fees

Undergraduate tuition per credit hour is $275 and graduate tuition per credit hour is $475. Minimum fees are added for online courses, labs and student service fees. The cost per credit hour is the same for all students whether in-state, out-of-state or international. On average, the price per course for books is about $150. Supplies vary based on the degree the student has chosen.

Student Services

The University provides a variety of support services for our students which include, but are not limited to, the following: on-site library, fitness center, computer labs, career services, bookstore, production center, Veterans Affairs office, etc. Tutoring services are available through our library.

About 55.5% of our students take evening classes. 37 % of our students are age 25 or younger, 49.5 % are 25 through 44, and 13 % are over the age of 45.
