The ROOT WORD for the WEEK is: MIS. MIS is a GREEK prefix that
means “HATE or BAD OR WRONG.” This week we will concentrate on
when MIS means “WRONG or BAD”. If you see MIS in a word, you
know the word has a meaning that includes the idea of “WRONG or
BAD.” An example of a word that contains MIS is
MISFORTUNE. Misfortune means “bad luck.” Sammy Joe had the
misfortune of making fun of his teacher behind her back when the
principal walked in and saw what he was doing and dragged him

A pair of male tennis shoes were left on the bench at the front

Attention fall athletes, the fall athletic banquet date has been
changed from Thursday, November 19th to Wednesday,
November 18th. It will take place at 6pm in the
cafeteria. Athletes are to bring a cover dish! Any questions see
your coach.
Students who wish to use the Library or Computer Lab 127
after school must arrive by 2:10. For those students
arriving after 2:10, they must have a pass from a teacher,
coach, or sponsor.
All Battle of the Band Applications are due to Ms. Cauthen by
Tuesday, November 10th…please go by the gym and turn
those in by 2:15. We are looking forward to a great turnout and

Winter sideline cheerleading try outs will be November 12th
and 13th in the large gym. All those interested in
trying out need to attend an informational meeting November 10th
at 2:10 in the small gym. A VSHL physical is required to
try-out.

will be a short meeting on Friday right after school. Please
bring your indoor fee of $70 and your signed medical release
