The
purpose of the marketing education programs are to prepare students
for full-time employment in a marketing occupation and to serve as a
background for those who plan advance training at the post high
school level in business administration, marketing, or other related
fields.
The Types of Marketing Classes at Salem
Marketing is a full year course. You study personal selling,
advertising, distribution, product planning, pre employment, and
basic marketing concepts.
Marketing Co-Op is a two credit course. You work in a marketing
related job, get credit for it, and get paid for it. Focus is on
relating classroom instruction, as described above in Marketing, to
your work experience.
Advance
Marketing is a full year course that gives you an in-depth look
at marketing functions and management. It can be taken as a co-op 2
credits or non-coop 1 credit.
DECA
is a co-curricular club for marketing students. Students are given
the opportunity to participate in local, state, and national
competitive events. At the local chapter students participate in
social events, community service projects, and fundraisers. There
are special field trips events and fundraisers especially designed
for DECA members.
Fashion
Marketing is a full year course that gives you a basic
understanding of the apparel and accessories industries. It can be
taken as co-op or non-coop.
Advance
Fashion Marketing is a full year course that gives you an
in-depth look at apparel and accessories industry. It helps you
prepare for supervisory management employment in the apparel
business. It can be taken as co-op or non-coop.
